Dr. Kishimoto from our laboratory participated in the event, and JSTP International Award for Young Researchers (Altan Gold Medal) was awarded to him.

Leandro from France spent three months as a visiting researcher in our laboratory, from June to August 2026.

 

Professor Ernst, Head of the Research Unit of Materials Technology at TU Wien, visited our laboratory and stayed for three months from January to April 2026.

 

Professor Kim JaeHwang from the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) visited our laboratory and stayed for one week in March 2026.

Professor Kim JaeHwang also participated in the research committee meeting of the Japan Institute of Light Metals held at our university.

The 5th Norwegian-Japanese Seminar on Aluminium Alloys was held at ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel in Toyama, Japan.(March 22 to 23, 2026)

Professor Watanabe, Assistant Professor Ami Narita, and three students from our laboratory participated in the seminar. Assistant Professor Narita and Ms. Misora Sameshima gave oral presentations.

 

The 178th Spring Meeting of the Japan Institute of Metals and Materials was held at the Shin-Narashino Campus of Chiba Institute of Technology.(March 11 to 13, 2026)

Mr. Junya Omura from our laboratory gave a poster presentation.

 

Science Agora in Aichi was held at Nagoya Institute of Technology.(December 14, 2025)

We presented an exhibition and conducted a workshop on functionally graded materials (FGMs).

 

A research internship was conducted at Riga Technical University in Latvia.(September 8 to November 27, 2025)

Ms.Miku Sameshima from our laboratory participated in the internship and was hosted by Dr. Janis Lungevics at the Mitutoyo Metrology Laboratory.

Assistant Professor Ami Narita and three students from our laboratory participated in the conference.

The 2025 Autumn Meeting (177th Meeting) of the Japan Institute of Metals and Materials was held at the Sapporo Campus of Hokkaido University.(September 17 to 19, 2025)

University Fair 2025 – Innovation Japan was held on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

 

Mr.Rinto Hosono and Assistant Professor Narita participated in the Trondheim International Summer School on Aluminium Alloy Technology (ISSAAT) in Trondheim, Norway, in July 2025. Assistant Professor Narita also gave a presentation at the summer school.

After the summer school, Mr.Hosono completed an internship at Speira, a local aluminum manufacturer.
　　

 

The 148th Spring Conference of the Japan Institute of Light Metals was held.(May 16 to 18, 2025)

Shimon Sekiyama from our laboratory received the Poster Presentation Award from the Japan Light Metal Welding Association.

 

Assistant Professor Narita was invited as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Rostock in Germany and stayed there for two months.(May to July 2025)

 

 

The 147th Autumn Conference of the Japan Institute of Light Metals was held at the Ota Campus of Gunma University.( November 8 to 10, 2024)

Five students from our laboratory gave presentations at the conference. Miku Sameshima received the Outstanding Poster Presentation Award from the Japan Institute of Light Metals, and Keita Imai received the Poster Presentation Award from the Japan Light Metal Welding Association.

 

We conducted analysis and characterization of additively manufactured materials at SPring-8.(October 11 to 13, 2024)

 

The 175th Autumn Meeting of the Japan Institute of Metals and Materials and the 188th Autumn Meeting of the Iron and Steel Institute of Japan were held at the Toyonaka Campus of Osaka University.(September 18 to 20, 2024)
